Pops of colour

In some cases colour doesn't have to take all over the place. Sometimes it just have to be a discreet optical surprise in a neutral environment. Famous Australian designer, Fiona Lynch designed the interior of a grand Victorian terrace in Melbourne’s South Yarra. She created a calm and lounging space using a white and light grey palette as a base mixed with custom made furnishing and some pops of pastel and bright colours. Can't stop staring at these images. Great inspiration!

Living in grayscale

Well, hello future house! Here is a beautiful duplex apartment in the centre of Gothenburg, Sweden. Guess where I spotted it; at a Swedish real estate agency named Entrance. As I have mentioned hundreds of times before, this is how all scandinavian real estate agencies look like; the epitome of elegance and good taste. Great example of monochromatic decoration playing nicely with white, grey and black hues. Always a pleasant visually surprise seeing plants and greenery in that kind of decoration. I think is a great daily source of domestic relaxation.

Inspiring Dutch bedroom makeover

Who doesn't love makeovers? Personally, there's something in the 'before+after' projects that really amazes me; the potentials of any space or object and the designer's imagination that's been challenged to transform it. This one is a pretty cool makeover. It's Holly Marder's redesigned bedroom. Holly is an interior stylist, designer and the blogger of Avenue Lifestyle. It's all about the neutral colour palette combined with the fresh, bright and light white's magic touch. I like the idea of an open wardrobe; it feels neat and airy with a sense of a concept-store-environment. The room is completed with thrift-shop findings and vintage furnitures, such as the antique marble topped bedside tables and the little wooden accordion lamp above the bed. La vie en white

White. Light grey hues. Discreet birch-wood details. Unexpected pops of greenery. That's pretty much what's all about this private family house in Delft, the Netherlands. Nu interieur|ontwerp were asked to design and decorate a home as bright as possible and mostly white. The kitchen is just an eye candy! I like the fact that there's no backsplash - even though I don't know if it's practical in everyday life. Interior have some beautiful details that you can get inspired of. Even the stencilled-house number on the outdoor bench is a great idea.

Modern countryside living

Beautiful images from family home in the countryside of Netherlands, near Amsterdam. Off-white main colour palette mixed with white and wooden furniture, greyish textiles and minimal colour details. I like the tiles' absence and the use of continuous cement floor throughout the whole house; even into the bathroom area. Fresh, bright and spacious!

Finnish simplicity

Susanna Vento is an editor, stylist, and interior designer. Jussi Vento is a graphic artist. They are a happy couple and their home in Helsinki is almost 60 square metre space yet charmingly stylish. When they moved in, they wanted to add a sense of spaciousness and clarity so they painted everything - and I mean everything (walls, doors, cabinets, ceilings, and parquet floors) - white. The minimalist total-white makeover makes it easy to add accent colours, like petrol blue. The couple's love for DIY (they designed and made the coat rod, the kitchen's cabinets and the bedrooms lights) proves that you don't need to spend much to have a stylish decoration. Plus nothing feels better than the satisfaction of creation.
